I have been trying for the last 6 months to peak Logan’s interest in art. Thus far we have tried scribbling with Crayons, Coloring on the whiteboard and finger painting! All three were met with a lack of enthusiasm. I’m not sure if he just wasn’t ready for it yet or he just lacks the interest. I think in truth it’s a bit of both. So I wasn’t sure how this next activity would be received, but Mom thought it looked like fun so why not? The recipe for this bath tub paint is super easy! The colors are so pretty that I couldn’t resist getting my hands into it too!
Bathtub Paint Recipe:
Ingredients
- Shaving Cream (Old Fashioned Barbasol works best)
- Food Coloring
- Muffin Tin
Fill muffin tin cups with shaving cream, then add 4-5 drops of food coloring each. Mix. Paint on with paintbrushes or use as finger paint.
It was a hit! Logan absolutely loved it! Yay to our first successful art project! At first he of course dived in with both hands. He liked grabbing small blobs of shaving cream and putting them in the tub to watch them float and would try to catch them.
After I painted a little bit on the shower wall, he was excited to try it too! He first tried the paintbrush but it wasn’t working fast enough so he resorted to finger painting and then just ran the paintbrush through it at the end.
Our bath time last night lasted an entire hour and we had green water in the end, but it washed away clean! Yay for no cleanups! Most importantly my son finally showed interest in an art project! Two BIG thumbs up!

This does look like SO much fun. I know my kids will LOVE it too. I LOVE your super cute photos! Thanks SO much for joining up to the Kids Co-Op weekly linky!!!
